Kevin McKenzie Hair London –identity application rollout
Client: Kevin McKenzie Hair London

Hark Design was engaged by Kevin McKenzie to undertake the identity development for his new, premier hair salon in Sydney’s CBD. We worked closely with Kevin to design a brand which reflects both his personal style and the business goals of the salon. Sleek, strong, stylish, prestigious – a touch of Knightsbridge in Sydney. The KMcK logo is applied in silver where possible. The salon’s appointment cards, price lists, marketing postcards and glossy black and silver product bags reflect the salon’s modern yet elegant, sophisticated style.

Hark Design worked with Martillo to develop a range of promotional photo cards – each featuring a project summary and key images to highlight the calibre and scope of Martillo’s work.

VW Queer Film Festival art panels
Client: Martillo Design + Project Management

Hark Design worked with Martillo to develop art panel installations celebrating VW’s sponsorship of the 2009 Queer Film Festivals. Tailored layouts were developed for each tour venue (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) along with vinyl decals and specification sheets for display vehicles.

Hudson information documents, reports and publications
Whilst working at Hudson Global Resources implementing the organisation’s rebrand delivery in Australia and New Zealand, Kerry designed and developed the style and format for a number of the company’s information based, white paper and report-style publications, as part of the overall suite of marketing collateral.

Hudson Commonwealth Games 2006 ‘Posters & Coasters’ campaign
Whilst employed at Hudson Global Resources, Kerry developed a campaign highlighting Hudson’s sponsorship of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. Used primarily at client luncheon events, the ‘posters & coasters’ celebrated Hudson employees’ energy and enthusiasm, and their support and connection to the positivity and essence of the Games.

Scottish Arts Council – Building Bridges

AWARDS: This booklet was awarded a commendation in the ‘Corporate Literature’ section of the Scottish Design Awards 2004, and 
2nd in the category ‘Best use of photography’ at the CiB (British Association of Communicators in Business) 2003 Scottish Corporate Communication Awards.

Whilst working at the Scottish Arts Council in Edinburgh, Kerry designed and produced this celebratory booklet commemorating 10 years of the Council’s support for crafts in Scotland. To enhance the special nature of the piece, production elements included premium uncoated stock, bronze-gold metallic print, cover fold-out sections and a cover emboss feature. The booklet was presented in a tailored case with spot UV logo application. See More>>

Scottish Arts Council annual report 2002/03
Whilst working at the Scottish Arts Council in Edinburgh as the Council’s inhouse designer, Kerry designed and produced a range of publications including the annual report. This piece showcases over 170 pages of editorial, financials and grants listings, and is a full colour print featuring spot metallic highlights.

Scottish Arts Council – ‘Care, Diligence and Skill’ publication
Whilst working at the Scottish Arts Council in Edinburgh as the Council’s inhouse designer, Kerry redesigned the Council’s ‘Care, Diligence and Skill’ publication, a corporate governance handbook for arts organisations. The design was evolved to reflect and engage the variety of users it was intended to assist, and production using wirobinding with tactile cover and content stock gave the publication a hands-on ‘workbook’ feel.

Scottish Arts Council – Arts in Scotland

AWARD: ‘Best annual report/corporate brochure’ at the CiB (British Association of Communicators in Business) 2003 Scottish Corporate Communication Awards.

Whilst working at the Scottish Arts Council in Edinburgh, Kerry designed and produced the organisation’s key advocacy publication – Arts in Scotland. Combining both supplied and commissioned photography, the piece featured high production values including cover fold-out sections and premium soft coated paper stock.

Scottish Arts Council information bulletin ‘ib’
Whilst working at the Scottish Arts Council in Edinburgh as the Council’s inhouse designer, Kerry designed and produced a range of publications including the Council’s bi-monthly magazine. Distributed throughout the country via numerous community and arts organisations, the publication’s design addressed the need for wide appeal and openness, whilst highlighting and creating a relevant platform for the arts content inside.
